Best Virtual Mailbox Services for Business, Compared
No single virtual mailbox is best for every business: the right pick depends on monthly mail volume, how many items need to be opened and scanned, check deposit needs and whether the address will appear on LLC filings.

Features and prices come from each provider's published pages as of the date shown. "Not published" means the provider doesn't list it, not that it's unavailable. Confirm with the provider before signing up.
How to read this board
"Not published" is not the same as "not offered." It means the fact checked here, the provider's own pricing or compare page, doesn't state it. When a filter above needs a specific fact, a provider marked "not published" for that fact is left out rather than guessed at.
Anytime Mailbox and Earth Class Mail can't be cost-ranked with the other five. Anytime Mailbox prices are set per location rather than in one national table, so the board shows "price varies by location" and links to how Anytime Mailbox location pricing works. Earth Class Mail's pricing page now redirects to a LegalZoom page that doesn't list a base plan price, so it shows "base price not published."
iPostal1 needs a note of its own. Its cheapest plan, Green at $9.99/mo, allows "up to 6 recipient names (no company name)." An LLC or business that needs its company name on the address has to start at the Virtual Business Address plan, from $14.99/mo, which is why the board shows iPostal1 at "from $14.99/mo + usage fees" whenever the "Business name on the address" box is checked.
The starting price on any plan rarely equals the real monthly cost. Providers bill per extra mail item, per opened-and-scanned item, and sometimes per page past a page allowance, on top of the base plan. The fit finder's "Est. monthly at your volume" column applies those per-item and per-scan fees to the letters and scans you enter, using 3 pages per scanned item as a fixed assumption. For a fuller estimate that lets you set pages per scan, forwarding shipments, checks deposited and annual billing, run your own numbers in the full calculator.

Using a virtual mailbox as a CMRA address
Every provider on this board receives mail as a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) under USPS rules, acting as the customer's agent to accept mail at its location. That means every account requires the paperwork every mailbox requires, USPS PS Form 1583, notarized or verified with two forms of ID before mail can be received.
A CMRA address is a mail-receiving location, not necessarily the business's own place of business, which is why some institutions flag mailbox addresses for bank account opening, registered agent statutes or a Google Business Profile listing. Before choosing an address for an LLC filing, check which address fields a mailbox can fill for your state.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better, iPostal1 or Anytime Mailbox?
Neither is better in every case. iPostal1 publishes one national fee schedule with a registered agent add-on, while Anytime Mailbox sets pricing per location, so the better fit depends on which one has a location near you and whether you need a registered agent. See the two largest networks side by side for a full comparison.
Can I use a virtual mailbox as my business address?
Most businesses can, but the rules depend on the form. Every provider here issues an address through a CMRA, which some banks, registered agent statutes and state filings treat differently from a physical place of business. Check which address fields a mailbox can fill before using one on an LLC filing.
Are there downsides to using a virtual mailbox?
Yes. Per-item and per-scan fees can push the real monthly cost well past the advertised starting price, some providers don't publish check deposit or registered agent fees, and a CMRA address can be rejected by institutions that require a street address that isn't a mail-receiving location. "Free" address offers also carry catches; see the catches behind free offers before signing up for one.
Do banks accept virtual mailboxes?
Some do and some don't. Because a virtual mailbox is a CMRA location rather than the business's own physical address, it can fail a bank's customer identification rules even when the business is legitimate. This is the same issue covered under CMRA addressing.
Which virtual mailbox includes a registered agent?
PhysicalAddress.com includes a registered agent free on every plan. iPostal1 offers one as a $99/year add-on in 25 listed states. PostScan Mail offers registered agent service too, but its price isn't published on the pages checked. The others on this board don't publish a registered agent offer.
How this page is sourced
This comparison is maintained by Cedrick Reese for VirtualMailboxBusiness.com. Plan prices, included items and per-item fees are copied from each provider's official pricing page, never from third-party roundups, and each row shows the date it was last checked. When a provider does not publish a fee, the table says so instead of estimating. Prices are rechecked on a regular cycle and whenever a provider changes its plan lineup.
